| | This year, Liverpool get 26,000, Sunderland 18,000 and the hangers on
and FA the rest (36,000). Most of these go to associate clubs and
associations, the FA Cup final is the Football Authorities Day Out,
like the RL Cup final is (I can get tickets for this through my Father
in Law, who sits occasionally on the RL Disciplinary Appeals
Committee). Some tickets find their way to the Touts (sorry,
'Agencies') who then rip the genuine fan off. There was an article
about this on Radio 4 the other day, the Liverpool Trading Standards
Officer is asking all fans who bought a ticket from a tout to give the
counterfoil to the Trading Standards Department so the original
recipient of the ticket can be found, their names published and the
person(s) / associations banned from receiving tickets for a period of
    time.

Touts can cause problems both in and around the ground, mixing fans up
(not a good idea at certain matches) and making ripped-off fans
annoyed / fighting mad, which soon escalates, especially if it's a hot
day and they've been on the pop.

Liverpool trading standards office having been trying to expose the cup
final ticket racket since the Liverpool - Wimbledon cup final. Their
aim is to identify to the FA all the Bobby Charlton's/ Gordon Banks
types who sell spare tickets on - even if they themselves don't make
any money, the tickets eventually end up with the touts and true
supporters have to pay an arm and a leg to get tickets.

If I can think on, I'll bring in the phone number so if any noters buy
tickets at above the face value, they can contact the trading standards
office. (Am I allowed to do that in notes ?)
