I was at the game (as a Newcastle fan). Allen was miles offside and I
didn't like the way he celebrated. That was your only decent shot on
target in the second half, but it was a fairly professional job done on
    us.

Had a good chuckle at that when I saw it in WSC. Whilst on
the subject of Millwall's past(?) reputation does anyone
remember the BBC documentary from 1978-ish which followed the
fortunes of some of the club's more "enthusiastic" supporters?
The "F" Troop, Halfway Line, The Surgeons(?) amongst others and
profiles on individuals who'd be working in community care jobs
one minute, and bashing lumps out of rival fans the next. If I
remember rightly at the time these Millwall fans talked excitedly
of how they were going to "do" the Spurs, who'd been relegated to
Division Two, the previous season. That kept us talking at school
    for ages.

I remember the documentary about Millwall - F Troop, Harry the dog (the
    social worker.....). etc etc

My favourite bit was when they followed Millwall to Bristol Rovers and
'Harry the dog launched a one man attack on the Bristol Rovers end' -
2000 against 1 wasn't very good odds and poor old Harry got a severe
    kick-in....

On a similar subject, there was a documentary about 'The cockney reds',
it followed Man Utd's London supporters on an away trip to Norwich.
The presence of the TV cameras 'encouraged' them to riot in the ground,
some moron was filmed walking on the roof above the terraces, then
falling through straight onto a crash barrier - I think he broke his
    back in the fall.

Dear oh dear. They certainly knew how to name them back then. Delving
back into Hooligan Lore I recall the rather colourfully named
"One Armed Babs". Whether this chap existed or not is debatable but
legend has it that he was a Chelsea fan with, you've guessed it, one
arm. Apparently rival fans were known to launch into a chorus of:

    "Babsy gives us a clap,
Babsy, Babsy give us a clap."

"Arrivederci Millwall" was pretty poor. I think it was directed by
a novice stright from Film school who walked off with an award for
it (a pair of tickets for the Den would have been fitting). Better, but
only slightly, was another film, the title escapes me, but featuring the
rather good Gary Oldman. The film landed the producers in trouble with
Ron Noades because of scenes filmed inside Selhurst. The ending
with the shotgun-in-the-pub-scene was way over the top and left you
wondering whether Pacino or De Niro might sneak an appearence as the
    credits rolled.

I was at the game when Man. United's "fans" demolished the Barclay End
stand. It was quite frightening, especially as I was only about 9 at
the time. I seem to remember the bloke who fell through the roof was
not badly injured. As he was being taken away on a stretcher, a group
of thugs chased after him, so he got up off the stretcher and legged it!

***	VIOLENCE THAT OVERSHADOWED THE GAME ***
The violence that overshadowed the game was @ first blamed on
our boys by the tabloid press, not the fact that with just over
10 mins to go before kick off untold fans were stuck outside
the ground trying to get in. The OLD BILL using their wisdom to
the full decided to push the fans from the back of the terrace
towards the front. In doing so this led to an overspill onto the
pitch and hence labeled " a pitch invasion". The boys in blue then
decided to push the fans back onto the already packed terrace, only
to find the fans resisting, hence truncheons started to fly.
I would like to know why ARSENAL did not make the game all ticket
and hence avoid all the agro that went on.

the Arsenal, I have come to the conclusion that if the standard of

I saw the game on Saturday, afterwards, I couldn't help thinking that
Newcastle will struggle in the Premier league next season. Millwall
were all over them in the first half (hit the woodwork twice), even
though we were not playing at our best, and what a soft goal
Newcastles' second was. Newcastle will have to change 1 or 2 players in
all sections of their team (i.e. Defence, Midfield and Attack), If they
are to survive in the 'dizzy heights' of the Premier league.

Millwall have been bloody unlucky this season!

Your team is one of the best home teams in the league. For Newcastle to
inflict your 2nd home defeat of the season at such a critical time for both
teams, shows that Newcastle are a resilient team. You were the better
team in the first half, but it appears (by all accounts) that we had
much the better the second half.
We were not at full strength and had 4M worth of talent injured for the
match, (Howey at centre half, O'Brien in midfield and Peacock in
midfield/up front). We could do with maybe another defender or midfielder.
Watch Keegan move in on Roy Keane if Forest get relegated.
