    I have a customer that is using TL MAC 2.5 to view office 97
    documents.  When he attempts to view the documents he only sees
    binary text.  I edited the TLMAC translation tables; however, this
    did not seem to help.  Does the customer need an equivalent
    version of Office97 on your MAC or how exactly do we edit
    the translation table?   The customer has version 5.1.a of Winword
    on his mac currently.               
    
    By the way, the document originated from America Online.
    
    
    I would be happy to get more information.

	As best I know, the Office '97 file formats cannot be read on a Mac (unless saved in an earlier format). I may be wrong. Note: TL/Mac V2.6 can handle RTF files (but will require a not-yet-released ECO to run with Mac OS 7.6). Check with Microsoft to see what's available to read these files on the Mac. If they have any thoughts, or if you discover a solution elsewhere, please update this note.

	Another thought... What is AOL sending? It may be that the file contents are OK but that TeamLinks can't read the message AOL is sending. TL doesn't do MIME - for that, the mail has to go through a PMDF (I think) gateway. Can the customer successfully receive any other type of file (e.g., WordPerfect, earler version of Word, etc.) into TeamLinks Mail/Mac when sent using the same mechanism from the same AOL account?
