|  | Public meetings tend to be a source of this kind of misuse.  You tend to forget
certain key words when you have to think on your feet.  At a recent meeting of
our homeowner's association, the management company representative (who was
under considerable fire) said that a particular budget item would be "in the
$25,000... uh... er... vernacular."  I guess she was aiming for "vicinity."
