Checked dir but could not find.
I'll be getting married on 2/27/93, day after I get TFSO'ed (ain't DEC
great) sorry :-). My SO is a convert (last year) because of me.
Ratholes not allowed! Anyway, she stated that the rings are
iniatially (sp) but on the index finger, not the ring finger. I don't
recall this being correct. Could somebody please verify this and the
reason, if known.
Good luck to all.
Thanks in advavce.

The answer is yes, that is correct. It is considered to be the most
prominent finger by the Rabbis, thus demonstrating to all that the
marriage is "official". Some people contiunue wearing the ring on the
index finger throughout the marriage. Others, move it to adhere to
local customs (ie: fourth finger) after the ceremony. I hope this
helps.

(not an official answer by a LONGshot ;-)
I thought the ring on the forefinger was for the betrothal part of the
ceremony, and on the ring finger is the marriage part.
Does that sound right?
An uninformed opinion worth every cent you paid for it,
