Does any one have a recipe for a cabbage soup. Near ACI there is a
Jewish deli that I used to go to. They have the best soup. I took a
recipe from the cooks file for cabbage soup but it is not the same. I
would appreciate any recipe for cabbage soup, it has some tomato in it,
thats all I know. Not being Jewish, I don't know if it has a special
    name. I'll be waiting.

| Well, it's probably not what you had in mind, but I think you can get
canned Manichevitz (?) cabbage soup in the kosher aisle in the grocery
    store.

| Cabbage Soup Put in a soup pot, 1 large onion, cut up, 1 pound of flanken (beef flank) & 3-4 soup bones or marrow bones. Cover with water. Add a large can of peeled tomatoes. (My mother uses Red Pack brand). Shred 1 medium head of cabbage and add to pot. Add salt to taste. Simmer for about 2 hours. Add juice of 1 lemon and sugar to taste. My grandmother used lamb riblets instead of beef, but it makes a very fatty soup. I'm hungry! Linda | |||||
