| | Look in OASS::JOBS notes file. There are a number of opening you
qualify for. This posts openings before they appear in the official
jobs book. It is how I found my current job. You usually reply by
sending an electronic cover letter and resume. If the hiring manager
and the personnel rep are both listed, try to deal with the hiring
    manager directly for better results.

If they give a DTN, you can look up the first 3 numbers in the printed
Digital directory to get the location, starting on page vi. If they
give a site code, you can get the location on page 418-422.

There is also a New York notes file, SUBWAY::NEWYORK. It
doesn't get much action, but I would post my request there. There are
notes file for a number of other geographical locations, wherein you
can post your request. They are listed in TURRIS::EASYNET_CONFERENCES,
reply 2.17. They include Florida, San Francisco Bay Area, etc.

In JOBS, you can also place your resume. Prefix the entry title with
INT: which indicates you are an internal transfer.

In Digital, your interpersonal network is very important. Don't be shy
about reaching out to people, including coworkers, people you've met at
classes or conferences, previous instructors, etc. One hand washes the
other. Someday you may do THEM a favor. An easy way to help others is
by putting them on a distribution list for valuable information you
receive, which they may not get. They may not be thrilled about your
"junk mail", but will readily let you know if they want to be removed
from your list. Many people will appreciate it, if you send them
things they don't get otherwise. For instance, you could send
informatin about tools or techniques developed in New York.

    Good luck
    Laura
