| David, I get the Shabbat edition of Maariv every week, and the stories
there concerning the demonstrations don't deviate too much from
what the Globe has been publishing.
Normally I jump on the Globe every chance I get for anti-Israel
bias(this is more of a generic problem for all of the press), but
I can't fault them too much in this case. Although they do seem
to take advantage of every negative move Israel makes, without giving
equal time to the faults of the Arab world.

| I beleive that the answer lies in what type of a country Israel
is supposed to be. If we accept that we are human, that we can make
mistakes etc... and are not a divine revelation then we are doing
what we can (who is covering Lebanon appart from an afterthought
now that we've left the place? What about Afghanistan-appart from
a senate committee or other? Why hasn't the press launched a scathing
attack on both Iran and Iraq for not allowing independant press
people to the battle scenes? You should see what the press delivers
as an attack when they aren't allowed in a few hours after the event).
If we are a divine revelation then we are goofing somewhere, my
beleif is that we are well ahead of the pack including the US whose
record in 'Nam was nothing to tell us how we should or should not
behave.

| In today's AP news I read that an Israeli solder was wounded in the
face with an ax. I wonder what the Boston Globe had to say about it, if
anything?
