873.0. "Irish singer needed...." by WILARD::PARKER () Thu Mar 07 1991 08:57
    Hello...

I'm getting married on April 12th of this year and my fiance and
I were interested in having a singer come in to the reception and do
some Irish party songs. His family is very Irish and we thought it
would be a good idea to get the reception going and have it be part
of our day. I've been working with a Music company and they just
haven't come through after keeping me hanging on. The reception
starts at 6:30pm, on a Friday night, and it's at the White Cliffs
in Northboro, MA. We would love to find someone, to come in with
a guitar and do maybe two, twenty-minute sets, in between the DJ
sets. If anyone has a name or two, or are interested in doing it
themselves, I would really appreciate any help on this...

    thanks,

    Bamby Lynne Parker

Seriously, why not give Limericks Pub in Boston a call. There
are quite a few people drop in a sing on a formal and informal
basis.
Maybe they can give you some names. Failing that, there's
normally some people there on a Sunday evening and you could
do worse than drop by and have a listen.
Limericks is close to Battery March Street, a short walk
from Quincy Market.

Another possibility. Comhaltas Coeltoiri Eirann, the Irish Music
Association branch in Boston. They play at a number of places
around, Green Briar, Canadian-American club etc.

The head is a guy named Larry Reynolds. The Guide to the Boston
Irish lists his phone number as 899-0911 in Waltham
