Altan are playing at Payne Hall, in Harvard University, Cambridge,
on Saturday Feb. 17th. Tickets are only $13.50.
Sandy's Music has tickets, at present I know of no other source, but
you can send a check @ $13.50 per ticket, (no handling charges), made
payable to "SOMMERVILLE PRODUCTIONS", inclose a stamped addressed
envelope and they will send you the tickets by return mail.
Sandy's address: Sandy's Music.
896a Mass. Ave.,
Cambridge, 02139.
This will be a great show, their last album was voted one of the top
folk/traditional releases of the year. Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh
(fiddle/vocals) and Frankie Kennedy (flute) are two of Ireland's
finest young musicians.
If you want to hear Altan, before taking the plunge, Brian O'Donovan
will be doing a special on the band this Friday night between 7-9pm,
on Celtic Sojurn, WGBH 89.7FM.

For the Rhode Island fans, Altan will be playing in Westerly, (not sure
if spelling is correct), on March 15th.

| 709.2 | is that R.I. fans or R.I. FAN? | TOLKIN::OROURKE | Wed Feb 28 1990 13:06 | 18 | |
Yes, it is spelled 'Westerly'
Did you happen to hear where they are playing (i.e. what hall or
theater?)
Westerly is a town on the Southern coast near Conneticut. My aunt
and uncle live there. The townsfolk deserve a break. Some bozo
gas station owner in Conn decided not to replace his gas tanks for the last
15 years....while he decided how to remodel.
Needless to say...they've started to leak in a big way. The
groundwater has been contaminated and Westerly has been in a water
emergency for the last couple of weeks.
God help us from this "make money, hell with the environment' attitude!

I'm not sure what they said, is there a hall attached/associated with
some church there?
