    If you"re still reading this....

There was"nt any aggro either as the IFA (Northern Irish Football
Assoc) refused to segregate the Northern fans from the Southern
fans,at least to the satisfaction of the FAI (Republics Football
Association),so the FAI declined to take up its allocation of
    tickets...some 6000 I believe...there was also some disagreement
about the time of the match...the FAI wanted an afternoon kickoff
to allow any Southern fans to get out of Belfast in daylight but
the IFA refused this also...probably on financial grounds. Consequently
the crowd was almost exclusively Northern Irish.

Be interesting to see what happens with the inhouse politics for
    the return leg.

As for the match, well it did end scoreless as stated previously
but the Republic should really have won...Alan McKnight in the Northern
Irish goal made some splendid saves to keep his team in the match.

Now for Spain ...even with a depleted squad!

    Sean
