Please Sir or Miss, can we have directions. Or is that small state,
RI, completely occupied by Roger Williams Park Museum :-)
Even the name of the town, would probably be enuff.

RE: .1 First things first, It's Miss, not sir or madame.

Roger Williams Park Museum is conveniently located in Roger Williams
    Park. (Big Help right!!)

The park is located in Providence, quite close to Route 95. I will
ask around for the simpliest directions and post them here next
week. I wouldn't want to make a mistake, which would be quite possible
if I give them from memory. Just ask KeVin how good my sense of
    direction is!

RE: 2 Faith and Begora will be there along with many a Colleen
    and Patrick, to be sure!!!

    Directions:

Take either 495 South or 128 South to Route 95 South (surely you
    knew this much already)

Take exit 17 off of Rte 95 (Elmwood Avenue).

Take a left at the end of the exit.

THe entrance to Roger Williams Park will be a short distance up
    on the left.

    Now for a few comments:

Be careful with those jokes about Rhode Island's wee size. After
all, Eire, the fair land is only a little larger!!!!

All traffic lights are the color designated! Rhode Island drivers
may be crazy, but our police are not as "tolerant" as those in Mass.
(Here that KeVin!~) THank you John for the reminder.

As an added bonus, there is a special penquin exhibit going on in
the Park Zoo. THe entire area was redone a couple of years ago
and looks quite good. I especially think this exhibit will appeal
to all my color-blind friends out there.

Oh yes, the paper said the Irish exhibit is free, but there may
be a small admission ($1 or so) into the Park itself.

    Hope you can stop by.

    Jen

The wrist is now taking limp lessons.

Now the question is, what do I do with the fingers??? 8*)

The BADhran sounds much betterer now that my wrist
is limp. Is my elbow supposed to end up near my ear as I use the
    down stroke?????

I heard keVin has given up on the two button accordian (on/off)

The reason???? He was unable to find a 300 ft
extension cord to plug into the wall socket.

His wife has said many times that he wouldn't know how to turn it

| |
Just a final note on the subject:

The Festival was a smashing success! Despite some last minute funding
problems, thinks went very well. Many performers agreed to donate
their time and a raffle was held with merchandise donated by local
    Irish merchants.

    Some highlights:

Derry Irish Dancers-- trained at the Willy Clancy School of Clare
(could someone please verify this as a valid school??)

Bridget Fitzgerald--One of the few Americans faithful to the "sean-nos"
    style of singing.

Jon Campbell--THe 'only' Rhode Island practitioner of the uillean
pipes (Gee, where was KeVin's band--they could have gotten
    some coaching!!)

Marilyn Murphy Meardon--One of RI's premier Irish Storytellers.

Due to the hot, sunny day and the location of the event in the park,
    there was a large turnout.

Hope any that went, had a nice time. Hope those who didn't can
    make it next year.

By the way, there was no need to worry about traffic signals---there
were so many cars in the Park, nobody was going anywhere fast!!!

    Jen

| | Re .15, .16:
keVin: .15 doesn't talk about "Mr Clancy from Milltown Mallbay",
(may his soul rest in peace), but about the "Willie Clancy
school of Clare", which might not be situated in Milltown Mallbay.
After all, County Clare goes a little beyond the cliffs of Moher, ;^)
and the school could be in Ennis, for example.
Now as far as I remember from last time I attended the Willie Clancy
Festival (in 1983) there were quite a lot of tremendously good dance
groups, most of them from Clare. As I'll attend it this year too,
I could check if there exists a dance school bearing this name and
where it is located, but don't expect an answer before July 26th.
The point is, there are many music and dance schools in Clare,
and most of them in a way or another refer to the Willie Clancy
    tradition.
    			Denis.

| | Re .20: Geologically speaking, the Aran Islands ARE indeed part
of Clare. Only problem is that the Atlantic Ocean cut its way between
Dun Aengus on Inis Mor and the Cliffs of Moher, but have a look
at both places, this is the same rock formation. Pity it was softer
    in between, though...
