Dubh (thuv or thu) is black.
Dubach (doo-ach) is ink or in slang "inky".
ir (ore) is gold, (I can't recall a word for Amber).
Man iche (maan ee-heh) is midnight.
Salach (sol-ach) is dirty (but context could make it dusty)

I have noticed that Black and Amber were two colours mentioned.
Now it happens that in Ireland those two colours combined represent
County Kilkenny. There is an infrequent noter in this file who
comes from there and claims that they know how to play hurling
down there. However reference to the "Black & Amber" can strike
terror into the hearts of some hurling counties before their more
    recent taming.
Now it also happens that because of their hurling guile this county's
hurlers have been known far and wide as the "cats" or the "Kilkenny
    cats".
So it would appear that "kilkenny" is an appropriate name for your
    little scratcher.

| | Leaprechauns have good memories.

I recall two successive skinnings of the proverbial cats. Watch
    it Martin, only seven left.

Snake loves the balmy summer days -- the Halcyon days wherein we
    wallow.
