I like to recommend some reading matter on Scottish crofting life
    - a series of books by Lillian Beckwith on the years she spent living
amongst crofters in the Hebrides. Her first book was entitled "The
Hills is Lonely" published in the UK by Arrow Books.

I strongly recommend this to anyone who likes a light-hearted insight
    into how other people live/lived!

| I'd like to recommend some children's books. One is "The Magic
Bagpipe", a picture book about a young boy who is learning to play
the bagpipes and is befriended by a fairey who gives him the gift
of making beautiful music. Another is a series of picture books
about a little girl who lives in an island village in the Hebrides,
entitled "Katie Morag Delivers the Mail" and "Katie Morag and the
    two Grandmothers".
