    Would the 4100 system (with Internal Cache enabled) boot from a

|  |     The following was suggested from TAO BIOS Engineering:
    
    >Hi Sam,
    
    >        I am sorry to tell you that we cannot find a AMD 486DX4-100SVB
    > CPU to check out this problem right now.  We have only Intel parts and 
    > two AMD DX2-66 in the Lab.
    
    >        We would like to suggest that J1 jumpper setting on the Colt
    > MLB be changed.  Changing the cache write back/write through (J1) may make
    > some difference to the AMD DX4-100SVB CPU operation.
    
    Please try this suggestion and report the results

|  |     Yes,moving  jumper W1 to the "on" position cured the problem.
    
    As a matter of interest,the Dec part 54-23546-02 (the AMD 100 cpu with
    the attached regulator) didn't exhibit the problem.
