| | Hi,

The service(s) running on the node you are connected to can be found by
the presence of a file named "SERVICENAME_IS_RUNNING" in /var/ase/tmp.

So, you can test which service is running in the .profile

    Manu.

| | Thanks for your reply Manu. I'm still not sure about how this test can
be done, if I take a look at /var/ase/tmp I will find these services:

    nnbaan_IS_RUNNING nnoko4_IS_RUNNING nnusers_IS_RUNNING

If I'm logged on via service nnoko4, how can the system tell me that
I'm logged on at that particular service, when there are more than one
    services running ?

    cheers
    Svein

| | Can UNIX tell which IP address you used with rlogin (or whatever)?

| | My guess is telnet/rlogin don't check..they probably accept
any address...it could be done technically, but it does not
work that way.

| | Hi Svein,

Sorry for this late reply, but I was at the Unix symposium in Berlin.
If you have multiple login service, then, I am afraid that you have no
luck to know to which service you connected the system.

    Manu.
