    I have a customer who has reported a problem where one system lost
    network connectivity for a while (for some reason we don't know) and
    when it came back online ASE seemed to go into a wierd state where it
    gave 1000's of "can't send to null director channel" messages. The
    system was halted but the services didn't fail over to the other box
    and asemgr just said they were unassigned.
    
    The systems are running Digital UNIX V3.2G & ASE V1.3. Has anyone seen
    this sort of problem before?

Stephen,

That looks like one of the known problems with ase1.3. There's a patch
(ASE130-011) that should take care of the problem, although I have
seen that message in circumstances that the patch didn't fix. Give
it a shot.
