I got two customer calls today both asking for process monitoring
capabilities and ASE. One is very HP-minded the other one is a Sun
shop. Both are really interesting customers. Three questions:

    1. Does anyone know how this process monitoring is done in
MC/ServiceGuard and/or SPARCcluster? (Our own competetive information
    says SUN cannot do that)

    2. Does anyone know of a public domain oer commercial product that is
easy to use and can be integrated into ASE to restart a service or
relocate it using the asemgr command line interface? Searching the web
lead to one product from BEA.

    3. Are there any plans to integrate such a feature? I know that it is
difficult to determine the real state of a process but handling the
simple case that a process just crashed should be much easier; or
examine a DB process that a client cannot connect to.

    	Thanks

| Hi You can use products like polycenter watchdog, or implement this your self with your own program or script. regards Eric | |||||
