1378.0. "Good rating for ObjectBroker in Network Computing" by HOUBA::BOUCHET () Wed Mar 05 1997 03:13
For those who didn't see it yet, have a look to the article
"Into Orbit" published by Computer Online (there is a
version on the WEB http://techweb.cmp.com/nc/804/804f1.html).
This article present the results of 5 ORBs comparison (OBB,
PowerBroker, Orbix, ROB+, and Visibroker). They have focused
on interoperability and system management.
Extracted from it:
   ObjectBroker V2.7
After all was said and done, it was a tough call between
Digital's ObjectBroker and IONA's Orbix as to which was the
better product. Although neither is perfect, both solidly
comply with CORBA and offer similar platform support. But in
the end, we tipped in favor of ObjectBroker, which offered
a real--if nonstandard--security model. It gives you at least
a measure of security if you can't wait for delivery of the
   CORBA Security Service.
Cheers.

The article mistakenly says that 2.7 has both IIOP and DCE-ESIOP.
Presumably, that was factored into their rating. I won't tell if
    you don't...
