I don't have an experience of dual homing acrross two GIGA/FDDIs using FGL-2 cards. Is the following configuration valid and works fine ? GIGA-1 GIGA-2 Port1(M)----(B)DAS1(A)----(M)Port1 (Original port type was A) Port1(M)----(B)DAS2(A)----(M)Port1 (Original port type was B) Port2(M)----(B)DAS3(A)----(M)Port2 (Original port type was A) Port2(M)----(B)DAS4(A)----(M)Port2 (Original port type was B) Portx(S)------------------(S)Portx (connection for inter-GIGA communication) I know DAS1 and DAS2(DAS3 and DAS4) must share the 100Mbps bandwidth. I think maximum of 43(34+10-1) DAS stations can be connected. Am I right ? or any other restrictions ?

| You are correct. This has been discussed in *MANY* other notes.

Please look at the notes under the keyword failover-configurations

| P.S. Typically, customers use a hunt group between the two
    GIGAswitch/FDDI systems.
