    	Hi,
    
    	I have rented the game and think it has potential to be a pretty
    	good role playing game. I think the graphics are pretty good but
    	I had trouble gettting places. I went to 3 different cities
    	but couldn't find anything new as far as weapons/potions go.
    
    	I ran into a big bull and a snake lady but would always get killed
    	by the snake lady, however was able to kill the bull and enter
    	a chamber with a God in it to get a password. 
    
    	Do you know how to get different weapons and accessories?????????
        The game would be a lot better if I can figure out how to get stuff
    	like a sword,potion,boots!!!!!!!

     I rented this game last week and got prety far.  There is a god in
    every city you must find. They will give you weapons and other items.
    there is a farrie (sp) in the forest you must fight a serpant first 
    and you must fight the cyclops toget to the next screen.
     You must kill the half woman with the bow and arrow to get the staff.
    than go to the caves and find a man who will teach you how to make it
    throw fire.
    If you need some more clues on anything I will try to help you but I only
    played this game a couple of times. 
    

    How are the Graphics and sound on the game. And is it like a Dragon
    Warrier or more like faxanadu or Simons Quest. Are there enemies that
    you casually bump into or do you just find them once and awhile. 

    Is anyone else playing this game?  I think it will be a good one
    once I get going....IF I get going!  I've managed to get a shield
    but that's it so far.  Can anyone provide some tips....such as how
    to kill the half woman/half ???

You're right, this is an excellent game. Good graphics and sound. Definitely
takes a while to play. I think I'm about 65% into it but I still don't have any
hearts.

The Snake woman was tough. I just kept running at her, jumping and hitting. It
took awhile but I finally killed her.

The first nymph is located on the second level behind the waterfall in
the land with the cliffs and mountains (forgot the name ... top left area)
you need the crystal ball selected and must press select to cause a doorway 
to appear. go in the doorway.

I've been playing this game for a few days now and really enjoy it.
    I've killed the snake lady, cyclopes (both), and the lion.  I have
    found the boots, 1st sword, harp, 1st shield, bottle, fennit (w/the
    ability to use the fire), shell to call the ocean helper.  I have
    extended my life span twice, I even have a couple of lizard skins.
    
    I have been having trouble with the word of the god.  Sometimes
    when I go to continue the game later, the words don't work.  I shut
    the game and try it again to have it work the second time.  This
    can be irritating.
    

    where did you get the bottle to call the ocean helper.  Was it in
    the town of Laconia?  Where did you get the salamander skins?
    Have you gotten anything else since, like the keys, bracelet or
    found any of the three nymphs?  Please reply quickly, if you

You need to go to the second cave in Argolis and from there, one of the cliffs
is actually a snake pit. Just keep on killing them.

You need the crystal to find the hidden doors. Once you have that, the nymphs
are in 1. The top level behind the waterfall in the mountain town, 2. In the
second cave in Argolis, 3. Kill the minotaur in Crete.

Hi,

In order to cross the oceans, you need the ocarina. Did you kill the hydra yet.
I think you need to do this next but I forget some of the early stuff in the
game. Sounds like you're making progress though.

I've killed the hydra but where is the ocarina?  Also about my other question
How do you prove to the  man in attica that you are whoever you put as the
hero at the begining of the game?

if he's the one i think you're talking about, you need to go to him after you
rescue the first nymph, but you need the crystal to do that and that's in crete.
Try going in the god rooms again maybe they have the ocarina. I know it came
from somewhere, I just can't remember where :-(

    I have the necessary 20 salamander skins, fought my way thru the maze
    to give to the old man, He says: You brought me enough, however you
    need 80 olive in addition!!!!! HOW THE HECK DO YOU BUILD UP OLIVES?
    The instructions say that if you hit "retry" you keep your olives(!!)
    and start at the last god, I did this after spending 40 minutes
    collecting olives, got killed, hit retry NOT CONTINUE and whammo, ZERO
    olives!!!! Anyone else figured out how to do this?  Is my game broken?

    The idea of the game is not to get killed when you get all the olives.
    Once you have collected them, go right to a god and get the word
    that will save your olives at the level you've collected.  When
    you now go to the witch to get the skin shield, and you get killed,
    you will be able to retry (not continue) the game and start again
    from the gods house with your saved olives.
    
    (fontaine/fontaine) any relation...

    I have finally made it to what I believe is the last world of
    Hades...  I've come to bridges that are not completed and can't
    figure out how to get across them.  
    
    I can't remember everything I did to get to this point but will
    try and help anyone who needs it.

    I rented this last night, needless to say I hit a stumbling block!
    You guessed it, the snake lady!  I must of spent a couple of
    frustrating hours trying to whack the *&#$%^ out her. I can get
    within a couple of inches from her by taking short steps after she
    cuts loose with the bow, then I get 1 time try and jump on her and
    that's all she wrote.

    I only thing I can suggest is building up your life (that's the way I
    did it).  Have you found any ambrosia yet?  if not, spoiler follows:

    If you go to Argolis (past the guy in the tree who doesn't think you
    have enough power to get there - he's wrong!), you'll find someone who
    will sell you something (that turns out to be ambrosia) for some
    olives...

  call the dolphin... goto the Island use the harp to stall the

      If anyone can remember, do you have to get additional strength
    to kill the serpent lady with the bow? I've been goin nuts trying
    to get her. Or is there a technique for doing her in that is the
    trick?

It has been a while - but I believe that I got a pattern of jumping over
her arrows and hitting her inbetween shots - I probably also had a lot
of luck.

    
      Thanks for the reply Susan. I am past the Snake Lady finally but
    my roadblock is is Laconia, the mountain area with all the cliffs.
    I can only go to the right to where the waterfall and the guy thats
    half man half horse. I can kill him but I find nothing. No doors 
    behind a waterfall. If I try to start again and go to the left there
    is a cliff that I can't jump over. What is the solution? If you can
    give me any help it would be great!

    Not too much activity on this topic, but I hope someone can help
    me out. I presently have the shield, ambrosia, boots and the sword and
    the harp. Just recently defeated the rock throwing cyclops.  
    My questions are:
    
    1) What should I be looking for next and what city can I find it.
    2) A man in Polopineses says "The crows tell me there is something
       hidden in the tree tops". Is there someone there, and how do you
       get it ? I tried walking thru the trees with no success dodging
       those *%#@^&*%^ bats.
    
    
    A great game, but I seem to have hit a roadblock. Any help would be
    greatly appreaciated.

    So much for walking thru the treetops. What crystal do you need to 
    make the door appear to get the nymphs. I have the crystal I got
    from the Graea but it doesn,t appear to work. Do I need the Moon

    Thanks for your reply. The question regarding the crystal has been
    answered, however, now that we're deeper into the game, more
    questions are arising. The moon crystal has been found, but we're
    not sure what you do with it. The only item left to be found is a
    key, which it appears you need to rescue one of the nymphs. The first
    and third nymph have been found. I,m not really sure if you need all
    three to complete the game. There is also a cliff in the mountain
    town (forgot the name) which is too wide to jump to the other side.
    Does the moon crystal come into play here?  Thanks in advance for 
    any input you can provide.

      Hmmmmm,  I had a hunch that the ability to walk on top of the screen 
   had to have some importance sooner or later.  
     
            Are the treetops referred to located in Peloponesus(sp) ???
   and what specifically should you look for?


      Secondly, I would apreciate a clue (if not an outright spoiler) 
   concerning the location of the key.  This is the only object I have
   yet to acquire.


        I've been playing this game recently so I MAY be able to help out 
    others who have questions or need clues.

    was mentioned twice. Once in the beginning of the game in the city
    of Acadia, and again in Poloponeses. Does anyone know how to jump

           Yes, it is located in................
  
      Phythia (sp)  Once you've gotten past the bouncing Cenataur
    and entered the caves behind the waterfall, you must exit those caves 
    (2nd fairy location by the way) to the right and fight your way through
    a couple of fields of fire spitting tulips. Once you're through the fields
    you'll encounter a hydra/flying dragon. Beat that (no simple matter) and
    he'll leave you the apple.

        If by the mountain town you mean Phythia, and if by the wide pit
    you mean the gap between the rock pillars immediatlely to the left 
    as soon as you enter the city............it can't be done. And don't
    you just hate those #%&$@(*& jumpin' monkeys!!!


      But you may be missing the same thing it took me the longest time to
   realize............


       There is a stairway leading down at that same place where you think 
   you need to make that jump.  When it finally dawned on me what I was missing
   I determined to go see my Optometrist right away.

    The ambrosia or life extender as it is called is located in the
    city of Poloponese, but not in the screen with the burning thorn bush.
    You have to go to the screen that has the rock throwing cyclops. There
    is a picture of this screen in the instruction booklet on page nine. To
    get there, you have to pass an old man that says "the crows tell me
    that there is something the top of those trees". This is how you know
    you are going the right way. Anyone know where the key is?

         Well, I'm to the endgame and have taken on Hades with less than
   satisfactory results. Obviously it takes some specific technique to 
   inflict damage on him, and so far I'm not doing it. 

         I'd appreciate any clues as to what it takes to put a hurt on
   this guy.

     Go talk to the old man named Keleos. He's in a big mansion located in the
   area of the temple of Athena. He won't be any help to you unless you've
   already rescued the first nymph. She's located behind the hidden door in the

     After getting the key, you've got a bit to do yet before seeing Mr. Hades.
   If you're interested the sequence of events should unfold as follows......
   

  
     Once you've received the key it's on to lovely Phythia where the second
   nymph wants rescuing. When you get the nymphette she gives you a note from
   your heroine explaining that she's been dragged off to Crete. So you ride
   Flipper over to Crete defeat the Minotaur and rescue the third nympho, who
   gives you another note from your heroine. (by the way, there's other things  
   in Crete you need to do or you can forget about beating Hades) This last note
   whines about her being snatched up to Tartarsauce and where you can find the
   entrance to said location. Then the fun really begins.

       Lastly, before going to Tartarsauce you should have all the slots filled 
   on your object screen and all three hearts.  Piece of cake huh?

       I hope you figure out how to beat Hades 'cuz I could use some pointers 
   myself.

    I can see from the activity that people are getting on with this game.
    Sory to say I have little to offer, I am behind most of you and stuck
    to boot.
    
    Those pesky bats can be killed by walking on thr tree tops getting
    close, crouching and firing at a rapid pace.
    
    Here is where I need a spoiler.  I can't find the Ocarina...Must have
    missed it or an important clue along the way. I have the sword, Harp,
    Trojan Pitcher,and Sandals.  I have been to Arcadia, Argolis, Attica
    (town, no the prison), Peloponnese and Laconia several times each and
    still have not located the Ocarina. There are several places I cannot
    get to in Laconia, guess I need the crystl for those.

      Disclaimer: It's been a while since I had to do these things so the 
                  spoilers may not be totally accurate.

           Try this............


         The ocarina is given to you by Zeus when you visit his temple in
     Laconia.  Getting there is a problem. When you first enter Laconia 
     and start moving forward you can either go down the stairs or a little 
     farther on a section of the walkway drops out and you fall down for the
     same result (I think). What you need to do is get past that pitfall
     and move down the walkway approx 3/4-4/5 of the way to the water. There
     is another section of the walkway that falls out, in the same general 
     area you picked up the flask (Trojan Pitcher). I can't remember what 
     triggers the falling walkway section, but if you mess around in the area
     long enough it should happen. Drop down the open section, go in the 
     doorway, and it should eventually lead you to the temple.

       I'll try to make this a little less longwinded.......


        You don't need the crystal in Laconia, but you will need it to find 
     the first and second fairies. Once you've gotten the ocarina go to the
     end of the walkway in Laconia and give it a blow, all of a sudden.....
     .........."They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning....."
     Jump on the dolphins back and ride him 'til you get to an island. This
     island has a nasty looking Harpy/Siren on it who'll mesmerize you with
     her singing and then kill you if you don't bang out a tune on your harp 
     first. That'll release you from her spell, but you still got to beat her.
     Do that and the rest will become obvious. You see there's these witches
     and.........well you'll see for yourself.



           I still need help with Mr. Mephistopholes pleeeeeeze somebody.

           Wadda I gotta do, call HADES HELP HOTLINE?????

    I believe it was the God Posiedon who gave me the Ocarina, but I can't
    remember which city I was in...As for finding the God in Lonica, it
    is quite tricky. By striking one of the pillars with your weapon,
    a trap door appears which will lead you to the entrance to the God,
    I think..There are two trap doors, the second one is the one you

       Yeah, I did things out of sequence too, found out the hard (and tedious)
    way what should have been done and when. The entrance to Tartarus lies...


     in the sea between the shores of the second cave in Argolis (where you 
    should probably check in at Hermes temple and get the Word of God) and
    Crete. Once you've found the entrance and step through you'll fall down
    between two doorways. Here's where the clue LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT comes
    into play. Any deviation from that sequence and you'll have to fight 
    through unnecessary screens. You do have to take care of one nasty at
    the bottom if you've done it correctly. The nymphs are at various locations
    in Tartarus, at some locations they'll refresh you, some they won't (fickle)
    There are also irritating dead-end paths, and paths that take you back a
    good distance.  All sorts of fun stuff.

    Thanks for the info. I had no problem finding Tartarus. I have not
    met Hades yet, but will let you know when I do. One question I have
    is do you have to fight that darned three headed dog every time you
    venture into Tartarus? This guy is a tough character to beat. You get
    rid of one head, and he grows back another.

    Hades comes in two forms: the shadow, and the real one. Both can be
    defeated with the same method. I watch my eight year old the other day
    do it. Assuming that you have all items required (i.e. the moon beam?,
    etc. ) then here it goes:
    
    The key is to be on the second to last block on the screen, on
    your knees, and continuously using your sword, which will inflict harm
    mostly to his feet. Now and them Hades will kneel and try to hit you but
    his sword will be over your head with no harm to you.

    I've been playing this game for some time now and need some definite
    spoilers...
    
    I have been carrying around 20 lizard skins and 99 olives, but cannot
    find out where I get the lizard shield?  I have a feeling it is in
    Crete (which I haven't explored yet)?
    
    How do you get to the mountain town (pythias?)?  I have been all
    through the other towns on the mainland but cannot find a way there?
    
    In an earlier reply there is a reference to a life-extender that is
    available in Penepollis (sp?).  I have hit those trees a hundred
    different ways and nothing drops out.  Do you require a special tool,
    or do you have to have the crystal first, or what?
    
    Is there any special way to kill the three witches that have the first
    crystal?  I get over to the island with all my life and my pitcher
    full, but by the time I get rid of the siren and get into the cave they
    manage to kill me off pretty quickly.  Is there something I need that I
    may not have, or is this just 'try, try, try again!'?

    Knowing takes all the fun out of it, but here are some spoilers for you

    The guy who has the lizard shield is in Create. You will find this
    shield useful in defeating the witches you mentioned. There is no
    special way to defeat the witches, just keep hitting...

    To defeat siren, play your harp while attacking her. This is the key to

     OK I'm stuck. I have been in the last Temple for over a week. I
    have all the Items. I have been as far as I can get in Hades Temple.
    I know there is something I'm not seeing because there is an area
    to the right that can be seen that I can't seem to get to. I can
    go up and over to the right about 3 levels and that is it. There
    is one place that I could get to this area I am referring to but
    the blocks you need to jump across is too low and you hit your
    head and fall down the stairs! Can anyone help please.

       You're headed the correct way. What you have to do is......    



       jump at the last possible instant and you won't hit your head
     and fall.  It's not easy, but definitely possible.

    HELP!!!!!!!!!!
    
    I got someone's cast off cartridge, but NO DIRECTIONS!  I've been able
    to get around alittle, but have no idea what it is I'm supposed to be
    doing!  What are those little red things that drop when some things are
    killed?  How do I get past the spider web?  What is that thing sitting
    on a pillar past the doorway that leads to athena?  CAN SOMEONE PLEASE
    SEND ME A COPY OF THE DIRECTIONS?

                   I am GURU and I'm here to rescue you.
    
         Those little red things are olives, save as many as you can
      (I believe 99 or 100) you will need them later.  I think the 
      "thing" on the pillar is the stone monster that the people in the
      town say blocked the path to Frygia. (I'm a little fuzzy with the
      names, it's been a while.)  Finally, you can burn the spider webs
      after you get the staff or you can keep jumping until you are free.

     Yo!, Jeff,
    
               If you really want to walk on the trees, you should
              go talk to Apollo, (I think), in Pythia (I think), and
              he will give you the Wing Boots.
    
                      Now when I say I think, I am pretty sure it's true

                If Pythia doesn't work, go to Argolis and try there.
               In either place someone will tell you to go back and
               see Zeus, and a different God will be there and give

    Is there some sort of trick or weapon needed to kill the bow-snake-woman? I
    can't seem to get close enough to kill her.  I have the shield that
    protects me as long as I keep my distance!  I seem to need the staff to
    get any further, and I know who has it (i think).  So how do I get it
    from her?

There is no real trick to beating the snake lady...it is just a matter of timing
What I did was to wait until she shoots an arrow(block it with shield) run in
give her a whack, and then turn tail to get out of there before she shoots me in
the rear...on the way into give here a whack you have to jump(I think) over her
arrow...just keep hitting away after 4 or 5 whacks she will croak...

    well, it's been awhile, but I've been attempting this game again.  I
    finally killed the snake lady, and found the boots. In "tree land"
    (penepoploius?) I've found another snake like creature and a rock
    throwing man.  Any hints on how to kill these things?  Should one be
    killed before the other?
