We just bought this game tonight, and my wife as been busy with it
for about an hour or so.

She would like alittle more directions, as is usually the case with
the default directions that come with the game. Like how do you
buy stuff. She "thought" she had bought a machine gun, but it doesn't
show up anywhere. Also, what are the boots for?

    Thanks, just beginning,

    Randy

Once you select the weapon or anything you wish to purchase using
the up/down lever...hit B-A To buy it.You will see your money disappear
as well as hear a tone to signif the purchase took place...

I have played the game and I can get by the Indian Chief guy. I think
Its a good game but after the Indian Chiefe dude it Kinda starts going
downhill because the guys start to come up .from behind and shott you
or stab you. I would rate it a hard 7.

                                          Mike.

| | Yes the game gets tough after the Indian Chief. Death Mountain is
exceptionally tough. However, use the shotgun when they start coming
up from behind. The Smart Bomb is also crucial. By the way, if you
think Death Mountain is tough, just wait until you are at the end. The
final stage is practically impossible, especially when you lose your
weapons from dying while holding them in your hand.
Also, each stage has the "invincibility" star which lasts for about
ten seconds. By sure to locate these, they come at the most
    oppurtunistic time.

| | Is this the kind of game you can continue (via password or something)?

The thing I don't like about alot of the games is that you always
have to start off from scratch the next time you play. I really
    like the password games.

Unfortunately, there is no password feature to the game. When you die
you may continue at the last level you started but once the game is
turned off you must start from the begining again. Also, continuing on
the higher levels is difficult because all you are armed with is the
pistol, which usually won't get you far

On the plus side, once you get the hang of the earlier levels, you can
"cruise" right on up to the harder ones in about ten minutes. However,
like most of these games, once you master it, the fun is gone and you
hardly ever touch it again. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a
    5. An average Nintendo game, nothing spectacular.

| | What is the best weapon for level three. The indians are everywhere
and I am having some problems with them. Also, when I have purchased
a smart bomb I seem to have trouble using it even though I select
    it. Any comments?

    Thanks

| | I've found the best gun for level 3 to be the machine gun, or if
you don't have it or enough money, the regular gun works well too.The
other weapons aren't really as fast as these two. If you're really
in a jam of course, the smart bomb is the ticket. I thought this
game was pretty easy, because I've been playing it up at UMASS amherst
for the past two years. ALL the screens and action are reproduced
well ( with the same difficulty) on the NES. Good luck, and wait
until you [are lucky enough to] reach the end!!!!
