| | To get help get higher scores: don't keep getting 3 Balls - do
it and then let 2 go (for most screens) Other "pills" won't fall
until you have only 1 left.

Some "pills" are ideal for certain screens (ie. "catch", or "fire")
    Some should be avoided.

I finished it back in the winter sometime and scored over 750,000.

| | I found a copy in Zayre's, of all places, just before they switched to
Ames'. I'll double-check the next time I stop by. It was expenseive,
close to $50 if I remember correctly, but comes with it's own
controller, so I suppose it justifies the extra cost.

Very good game...very addicting as well.

| | What is the controller. Is it good.
 |
| 78.10 | Arkanoid controller | DEMON::CHALMERS | Ski or die... | Fri Dec 08 1989 15:02 | 22 |
| | The controller is simply a small grey rectangular box with nothing more
than a knob and a reset button. You turn the knob clockwise/counter-
clockwise to move the paddle across the bottom of the screen. (Similar
in theory to the arcade version.) From what I can tell, the controller
can only be used for Arkanoid.

On the other hand, you can technically use the regular NES controllers
to play the game, but with a huge loss in responsiveness. I've never
tried it with an Advantage or other super-controller, so I can't say
    whether they would work well.

The Arkanoid controller has one drawback, though, in that in order to
skip over the lower levels of the game to start at a higher level, you
need to have a 'regular' controller plugged into the other jack so that
you can hit the required sequence of buttons. It can get awkward trying
to juggle the two controllers at once, but you only need to do so
before play begins, so it's bearable.

A fun game...I found it as addicting as Tetris. A great test of
    reflexes.

Note 388.0 Is there Akranoid for Nintendo? 1 reply
TOOK::RASPUZZI "Michael Raspuzzi - LAT/VMS Engineer" 11 lines   5-JAN-1990 08:26
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, I did a DIR/TITLE="Akranoid" and could not find a base note so, I thought
I would start one.
Does anyone know if someone makes a Nintendo version of the arcade Akranoid?
This game is very similar to the old Atari "Breakout" game.
If anyone has played the game, how does it compare to the arcade version? Are
the graphics good?
Thanks,
Mike

for a long time. The directions are missing and I need to know
what controller goes where. Do you put the regular controller in
"A" and the Arkanoid controller in "B"?
