The new Nintendo systems that have just become available at some
of the stores DON'T come with Super Mario Bothers, instead the included
the "Offical Nintendo Players Guide". What a way to increase you
profits (the book is only $12.95). I'm sure glad I bought my system
    last year.

    My feelings exactly.

Also it has very detailed maps which I consider to be MAJOR SPOILERS
for me anyways, mapping was half the fun. Oh well, gotta say though
the book does offer some real good hints, for example, in Kid Iccarus
did you know that the black marketeers prices can be bartered ??
Anyone who may be playing this should try manipulating the A/B buttons
on controller two the next time they run into a black marketeer...

I just purchased the "Action Set" from Bradlee's, Concord, NH for
$99. As described in -.1, it came WITH SMB, Duck Hunt, and the gun,
but NOT the book. I also purchased the NES Advantage and Top Gun
at the same time. ($45 and $33 respectively).

I bought the book at Sears, Concord, NH over the weekend for $15,
so I think I did reasonably well on the basic set-up as the Control
Deck + Book combo (w/o any cartridges) was $79 at Bradlee's.

SMB is a big hit with everyone. Until I got the book, I had no inkling
at just how extensive it was; we've only just scratched the surface
with world 1-3 and 40k points! Top Gun is also quite popular. BTW,
the games selection at both places is OK, but not huge.

| While I was up in Maine, I visited the nearby Fox Run mall in
Portsmouth, and in Kay Bee Toy & Hobby shop I saw the Advantage
for $39.99. The cheapest I have ever seen it! Also the Max was
$19.99, which I purchased and am very pleased with, although I am
going to remove the red disk, and just use the black part to control
    it with.

Have you removed the red disk from the MAX yet? Let me know
how it works. I have the MAX also and don't care for the red disk...
there seems to be better control with the black ring.

    Thanks
    Bob
