           Hi:

I want to learn modern math. I am familiar with classical
math. But Modern Algebra, Functional Analysis , Geometry
like Projective Geometry and Topology are new to me.

Will someone give me pointers to where Should I begin.

| i took a course last year in the EE dept. of northeastern univ. where we
went over introduction to functional analysis, the text book we used was
"engineering analysis, a Vector space approach" by Robert J. Schilling
    and H lee.
this book is really a math book , but sort of oriented to practical
uses of functional analysis. not too many examples though.. some but
    not many..
    main topics:
vector spaces, normed vector spcaces, inner prouduct spaces, linear
transformations, finite-dimensional linear transf., linear operators,
finite dimensional linear operators, linear differential systems,
linear difference systems, orthogonal transformations and amplitude
    estimation.
