    		Insurance Math - Real or Imagined?
    	
Does anyone know of a math package that would be suitable
for the Insurance Actuarial community? They do things like
analyze mortality tables, present value calculations etc. 
They use large amount of data in their work and they do
vector matrix manipulations. Typically you would find them
using the APL programming language.

	I do not know of anything specifically aimed at the actuarial community, however, Mathematica is a good general bet for things like this. The traditional statistical packages are things like SAS, RS/1, and SPSS. Though the first two are really aimed at the research community and the last is really aimed at the social sciences. -- Barry
