try not to associate the lifting of depression with eating.
This isn't easy, but be fair to yourself.

If you get stuck in the "I feel bad - I eat - I feel bad" loop, you
    will never diet again.

If I feel depressed I get a hug from my kids, go for a run, have a
diet soda, read my favourite books....

| | You'd be surprised how popping a couple of Vitmin B tablets will help
lift your spirits! I never believed in taking vitamins until recently
when my world started falling apart. My nutrionist suggested taking a
multivitamin instead of tossing candy bars down my throat whenever I
felt nervous, upset, or anxious. Sure enough, within a half hour of
taking a Vit B I feel calm, less tense, and overall happy.

You can get vitamins from any health food store, Bread and Circus
grocery store, or Shaklee (a local at-home distributorship with people
    who know their vitamins/nutrients).

When you feel yourself getting upset take a walk, do something you've
been putting off for a long time, some ACTIVITY so while you are
thinking about the upsetting thing you're brain/body is also
concentrating on something else and you can't focus ALL of your
    attention on that problem.

| | Vitiam B is good for you but don't forget the other B complex part
of the vitiams and try to get one with zink with it it will make
a big difference to you system, for depression takes the b complex
vitiams out plus vit c and zink which rebuild the cells so take
the complete vitiams, you owe it to yourself to be as healthy as
you can,and that is my two cents. Best of health Don Allen

Unless you have a vitamin deficiency, and B is usually only
a problem for vegetarians, you're seeing a placebo effect.
Be careful with B vitamins, some are fat soluble and overindulging
with them can lead to health problems like nerve damage.
The moral is eat well and don't play games with your health.
Popping vitamins to feel good is, in my opnion, playing games with
    your health.

| | I disagree with .4...Vitmain B is not completely a placebo effect. It's
a proven medical fact that Vitamin B6 adds in depression and in those
days/weeks some of us suffer (PMS). However, it's not a miracle cure. I
also am a depression eater...I found that by taking as little as 25mg.
of B6 daily helped tremendously. A well balanced multiple vitamin with
even 10 mg. extra of B6 can help.

Always start with a low dosage of any supplement, to be sure that your
    system can assimilate it!

Good luck...you can break the cycle!!
