.0> Today is my fourth day of the diet, and I've lost 10 pounds already!
.0> I don't care if it IS all water -- 10 pounds is ten pounds

The problem is, losing all that water will interfer with the
metabolization of fat. Plus, once the diuretic effect has worn
off, you will regain the water.

I've received a LOT of requests for the diet, and I'm getting to
them as I can. If you do not have ALL-IN-1, please let me know
your mailing address, as I am sending hard copies till someone can
tell me how to get the diet from ALL-IN-1 to VAXmail.

Mike, I've been on the Rotation Diet for five days now, and total
weight loss is 15 pounds. Total loss on the 4-Day Wonder Diet was
    12 pounds. I've fluctuated since Saturday (15-14-14-15-15), but I
don't think this is ALL water weight loss. I've been exercising
15 minutes each day (stationary bike), with my goal of 30 minutes
a day by the end of the second week of the Rotation Diet, and 45
minutes a day goal by the end of the third week. _AND_ no "cheating!"

| | ALL-IN-1 to VAXmail

    there are two ways.

    1. Simply Create. The syntax is User @Node @Vaxmail, ie.
    GKE @TRUCKS @VAXMAIL.

    2. There is also a VAXmail option under the DP (DECpage) option
if it is installed on your ALL-IN-1. You can simple do a document
transfer down from ALL-IN-1 to VMS and then at the mail prompt under
DP type SEND file.txt, ie SEND DIET.TXT

    Hope this helps.

P.S. No. 1 is the most correct and easy way to accomplish this.

In 5 days, the most fat you could lose is in the range of 2
to 3.5 lbs. The rest is water and waste and will reappear when
    you go off the diet.

You are not burning anywhere near 3,500 calories per day. Don't
fool yourself. Unless, of course, you're running a marathon every
    day.

You're doing real well, congratulations! The Rotation Diet is
a balanced diet, and one on which you can stay for a long time
    	without harming yourself.

Just a thought: Mike, would you re-read your recent notes and
try to see how very negative most of them sound? Do you think
that people trying to lose weight write in this file just to
be told off? Though your expertise is very valid, and as such
contains very valuable inputs to all of us, a word of
encouragement once in a while is not bad either!

    re: General

There is a fairly recent trend in this file (which I have been
following for more than a year) to put down anybody who is not
on Weight Watchers, and to consider WW as a universal remedy.
I am very glad it has worked for many of you, but don't forget
that for many other people it has not been the answer. We shouldn't
convert this file to publicity for WW. There are many other
valid ways to lose weight, and not all are "fad" diets.

    Regards, Joana

I'm not trying to tell anyone off. I'm trying to warn them
of the potential hazards and to give them a realistic outlook. If
someone wants to kid him/herself and think that a diet that causes
a loss of water and lean body weight is good, I won't stop it.

But, when it's presented in a public forum, like notes, I feel
readers deserved to be warned. I only want to inform.

I do encourage, privately, in MAIL.

Hooray! I'm so glad to see a note mentioning that there are other
weightloss programs that DO WORK other than WW. I have very
successfully lost 34 pounds on another plan and have kept it off!
Our 14-year old son has lost 25 pounds on this same plan and it
isn't a fad and it does encourage good nutrition and a balanced
eating plan, etc. and is doctor approved. I tend not to want to
enter anything in this note because I do not go to WW. Don't get
me wrong, I am not knocking WW. It is very good and does work for
many, many people...so please...no poison keyboard mail.

| | I do not think anyone in this notes file is trying to put anyone
down (nor have I ever read a note to even hint at that) for not
using weight watchers. I think what people are saying is to have
a healthy program (such as Weight Watchers, not necessarily Weight
Watchers) and not a crash diet. Another reason you might read so
many pro notes about Weight Watchers is that it is sucessful and
long term. I have read all these crash diet's and the quick weight
losses for three to four weeks, these same people never bother to
inform you when they could no longer tolerate the diet or gained
all the weight back. There are many good diet's out, not just Weight
Watchers, all people that have lost great amounts of weight are
suggesting is that the diet be healthy.

| | From someone who just completed the 4-day wonder diet, I thought
I'd add my $.02 worth. (I lost 6 lbs. on this diet and feel *great*..
    thanks, Cat!)

We should realize that losing weight is a *personal* matter, and
find out what works best for us (individually) and *STICK WITH IT*.

I realize that this diet is very low in calories and the weight
comes off fast, but that's incentive enough to get me started.
I'm planning on going back on the wonder diet again next month.
In the meantime, I'm going to be on an 'un-diet'...eating in moderation
while eliminating the junk (sugars, etc.). I know what I can and
cannot eat and have to change my eating habits. That's the only
way I'll lose weight. (along with moderate exercise...that I need
    to work on!) (8-)

Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts. No matter how quickly
we can lose weight on *any* particular diet, the bottom line is
    KEEPING THE WEIGHT OFF.

Thank goodness for this notes file where we can encourage each other!

I hope I can put this in a way that does not sound like doubting
Thomas or a wise guy, because that is not my intent. Please let
us know in a month if you were able to keep the six pounds of.
I for one certainly hope you can, if you do than four day's every
few weeks sounds good to me. We all get bored with our programs
and would like to try something else every now and then.
