| | I also do counted cross stitch, I am working on a perpetual calendar,
my husband calls it my perpetual project. I would suggest however
to stay away from cross stitching anything that resembles food!!!
When I get tired of c.s. I like to read and write letters.
I also have a two year old son and many critters that keep my hands
    and feet very busy.

I hate admit it but I smoke.

I am trying to quit but not until I have lost some weight.

| | I do any kind of needlework: Counted cross-stitch, needlepoing,
latch hook, crocheting, knitting, or sewing.

I also do calligraphy, which is great because you CANNOT eat and
do calligraphy at the same time. The ink simply will not stick
    to greasy or dirty paper.

I've also been known to clip coupons and plan menus, but I can't
do this when I'm hungry because EVERYTHING sounds good.

I try to keep my hands busy writing letters.. cleaning out
    closets ... or mend...

I took a class where we made wreaths and we used Hot glue and
you don't want to eat anything with that on your fingers. It
    helpes..

I run out of things myself so I will be glad to hear what
    others say..

Good Luck and keep those fingers busy busy busy...

    Me too

| | I keep my hands busy by sewing, writing letters, reading and if
all that seems too boring....I usually take a nap...

It is really funny...I sometimes bake/cook for the next week or
so but I am not tempted to eat...maybe that is when my hunger drive
    is satisfied.

| | I have also been doing cross stitch to keep me busy. Unfortunately,
I made so many things for Christmas that I have temporarily stopped.
I got into a good book and for the last few nites from right afer
supper until I go to sleep I have been reading. I finished the
book last night - Windmills of the Gods by Sidney Sheldon. It is
on tv this Sunday and I can't wait.

I try to push myself to do something at night before I settle into
the tv, including cleaning house a little (yuk!) or sewing. The
other night we gave my dog a bath because he was pure mud from playing
outside all day. That was fun too but he didn't think so.....

Funny you should mention dumbbells. Just this past week, I've dusted
of a pair of 6.6 pound dumbbells that I bought a long time ago (but
haven't used recently), and now do a set of upper body exercises
with them on my off days from running. I figure that the running
takes good care of the legs and cardiovascular system, while the
dumbbells will develop and tone the upper body, and the two complement
    each other well.

A complete manicure keeps my hands busy for an hour or more depending on
how bad the nails were to begin with.

Agreed! I give myself a complete manicure at least once a week.
And it is IMPOSSIBLE to stuff your face when your fingernails are
    wet.

I crochet, cross stitch, sew, quilt, clean house, read WEIGHTLOSS
notes file, make rosaries and other things to send to the missions,
read Stephen King, write letters, call a friend, give myself a facial,
file my nails, play with the cats, organize my sewing room, go to
sleep, do laundry, write programs (at work only!), go window shopping
at places where there are no 'goodie stops', take a walk, ride my
exercise bike, look through all my pattern books and kits and see
what I can make next, look at my WW attendance book and be happy
with my progress so far, take out my wedding album and remember
why I'm trying to lose weight (so I can look like that again!),
pay bills, go to the library.....I'm sure there's more, but that's
all I can think of now!
