| Gary, it doesn't much matter what you or I want, or believe what is best
for the US and the USN. That draft dodging coward in the Whitehouse
has plans that require the support of the vocal, feminist left and to
get their support he will see that women are included as crew members
of active combatants. (The fact that the leaders of this movement
and their daughters, are far to wealthy and insulated to ever seriously
be put in danger, that privilege will fall on working class women, of
course is irrelevant in the pursuit of their goal.)
We are well beyond the point of reason or common sense, and will just
have to live with his self serving decisions. In the final analysis,
and as a Vietnam Veteran this gauls me to no end, as long as we are USNR
he is the CinC and we will just have to make it work, or at a minimum
try to lesson the possibility of disaster.
I swear to God, there are times when I think I have had enough of this
bull and should retire. However, as long as I can contribute from my
own combat experience, I owe it to the kids to stick it out.

I agree about wanting to retire, I'm eligible for retirement, probably
by next spring I should have my NOE (Notice of Eligibilty to retire) and want
to. Our CiCH isn't the only problem, but he does aggravate the situation.
My best friend, still on active duty in the Navy, challenged me in
that regard. He is a christian, as I am, and reminded me that we are to pray
for those that God has placed in authority over us. A real challenge in this
case!
