Well, it seems that in the foreseeable future we will be doing our
foreign training in and around Gutersloh, West Germany.
Has anyone been there already? I am particularly interested in the
surrounding countryside up to 10 miles from the perimeter fence.

This year we're off to stay in tents near some German swamps
apparently....the mossies are so big they ride horses!!!!

Dave do you know the dates for your camp and what you will be doing ?
The reason for asking is that my Band ( 1/52 lowland ) will be head-
ing to Gutersloh in early April for a medical EX with 220 Field
Ambulance from Kent.
We have been told that they will be useing helecopters to lift
casualties from the battle zone to the Field Hospitals.
Just a thought with you being R.A.F. you might be involved.

Jock,
I haven't been told the exact dates, my guess is late July or early
August.
Perhaps the RAF will be represented by the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron
based at Hullavington.
