My son has a scientific microscope, and would now like to make up some
slides of his own. The instruction book suggests using amaranth or
methelyne blue as a dye. Where can I get hold of either of these?
I've tried Boots in town, and Moss the chemist.

Methylene blue used be available as a remedy for freshwater/tropical
fish. If it's still available, and is the same chemical you're looking for,
then World of Water (at Shinfield) or Pet City would be your best bet.
