    Help!!!!
Iam I going crazy or is the way that it is supposed to work ?.
Cust is sharing out a area called GLOBAL. In this area he wants users
to have only RX permissions. In a sub dir called TRANSFER he wants the
users to have RWCXD permissions. This can be achieved ok but by doing
this gives the users the permission to DELETE the SUBDIR TRANSFER. The
cust wants the users to put the files in there but not be able to delete
them. The server is a DECUNIX v4.0a running PW v6.1 eco1 with both NT
and pwdos v6 clients. The only work round to stop the users doing this
so far is to put a hidden r/o file in the dir so that it cannot be
deleted. Is this how it is supposed work and cust should spend his time
on user education or can it be done via permissions.

    Share Share perm File Perm

    GLOBAL rxwcd r x
       |
       |_TRANSFER rwcxd rwcxd

I have tried to do this by just share permissions and by mixing both
and have not found any combination to get this directory set to be able
to have users create and del files in it but not delete it.

"SET FILE/PROT=S:RWX,O:RWX,G:RWX,W:RWX TRANSFER.DIR" is the VMS command
equivalent I am probably looking for. :-)
