| 212.3 | did support for .FDC files ever get added? | CSC32::J_RYER | MCI Mission Critical Support Team | Wed Apr 16 1997 11:02 | 11 |
I have some .FDC traces that I'd like to read with IRIS, but
haven't been able to make it work so far. When I try to load
them in, it reports "Incorrect network data type in Sniffer file".
Can anyone give me some instructions on how to "coerce IRIS into
reading them" ?
Thanks,
Jane Ryer

Jane,
Some time back, Network General added this "compressed mode"
feature to the sniffer software - IRIS can't decode that - at the
time we were using the documented file format in the Sniffer
manual.
If you can save the .FDC in noncompressed format, IRIS should be
able to read it.
/Mitch.
