I heard Ted Kennedy talk about "deadbeat Dads not paying up" during
a discussion on welfare reform. Once again never a word was
said about Custodial mothers who move away with the children.
Not a word about fathers having ***equal*** time with the
children or simply spending SOME time with our children.
Same old theme, same old BS from politicians.

I did get a call recently from a woman writer who was doing a story
about fathers who want to be more involved with their children after
divorce. I think I sensed a little bit of compassion from her.
Not sure though. Most articles on domestic issues (Divorce, custody,
child support etc.) written by women are biased against men.

Sure wish men would organize in the political process.

One of the problems men face in this area is the sheer bigotry
that anyone who dares bring up this subject will face. I entered
note 1613 in PEAR::SOAPBOX. You will find some of the responses
very enlightening as to just how bigoted some people are on this
    subject.
Moral of story: if you bring up this subject, be prepared for
some all out attacks. Be prepared to deal with them.

| Right on Fred,
All NCP's have got to educate as many people as possible about what's
going on. You've gotta be willing to take a risk because you can never
be sure about how someone feels around this emotionally charged issue
but it's our duty to attempt as best we can to disseminate the truth.

There's big stuff going on "up on the hill" as we speak and it is a
very opportune time to get on the horn to your congress-people and
let them know we're watching and we refuse to be railroaded into
    indentured servitude.
