If you live in Colorado today, then today is Precinct Caucus Day in
Colorado. Call your County Clerk to find out when/where. The
precinct caucuses are where you, as an individual can get your concerns
heard at least.
You must be "affiliated" with the party in order to participate in the
caucuses. The County Clerk can probably tell you if going down to
to the County Clerk's office and changing today will help.
I fully understand some people's aversion to the political process.
I have said several times myself that my biggest problem with the
Republican Party is the Republican Party. But if you want to change
some of this stuff, then this is one place you can have an affect, maybe
a small one but more than just sitting around and feeling sorry for
yourself.

Just a few:
I am referring to the workings of the party itself and those people
in control of it from the National level down to the local. My
opinion of Newt Gingrich took a serious hit the other day when he
said that Jack Kemp was finished in the Republican party because
he endorsed Forbs.
On a state level, in the last governor's race here in Colorado a
guy bypassed the party and got on the primary ballot by petition.
After he won the primary, the party basically hung him out to dry,
and allowed an extremely liberal Roy Romer to be re-elected to
continue the 20 year reign of liberal governors appointing liberal
judges to the courts.
On a local level, just about anybody can run on the Democrat ticket,
but to run on the Republican ticket you have to get permission from
the party hacks.
