| | I saw that too. I will concur that that program was a fine one. And
will watch many of the re-runs as possible.

| | I watched that episode as well. It was very moving; I wish they would
continue the show, but I guess we'll have to settle for the re-runs.

Drat! I'm sorry I missed it. Those also were my formative years.

Watching that show was spooky; it was like watching my life in reruns.
Or at the least, it seemed as if I had written the show.

So what happend to Kevin (and Winnie)?

Well - what "happened" was sort of left to your own imagination.
Various circumstances lead up to Winnie and Kevin spending a rainy
night in a country barn. I was left with the feeling that they
may have actually "done" it - but...those of purer hearts (women
generally) probably would tell you that Winnie just put her arm
around Kevin and held him as they fell asleep in each others arms...

      8)

What an excellent series it was. Kevin's dad was a spittin' image
of my old man...to say I could "relate" would probably be an under-
    statement.

The show ends with a "summary" of what became of all the characters.

Having a mind block -what profession Kevin goes into? Writer? Winnie
and Kev' remain friends as the years go by - but each go their seperate
    ways. Paul (kev's bud) goes to Harvard. Kevin's sister - ?. Kev's
brother - takes over the old man's business I think - after he (the
    dad) dies 2 years later.

| | If one takes the scope of the program to be a recount of a particular
persons teenage years then it MUST end sometime. The wonder years took
a progressively older perspective as each episode enfolded, it has to
    end sometime.

| | G'day from downunder...

I watched several episodes and missed the last which was shown
recently. I pre-date the series 8-( coming out of teens in '65 but
there were not a lot of things I could not relate to... My sons had
problems relating to it tho... I was ofter asked 'were things like that
then' and had to explain how life really was simpler then IMHO...and
thet it had been even simpler a decade before when I was Kevin's age.

It must be quite hard to be growing up today...

| 70.9 | What year did Kevin graduate? | GUCCI::GNOVELLO | Here Today, Gone ??? | Thu Aug 26 1993 09:29 | 14 |
| |
Can someone tell me what year Kevin graduated from high school?
My guess is 1974, as a recent episode showed Kevin, Winnie and
Kevin's brother spending new years eve of 1973 in a laundromat.

Last night showed Kev's sister graduating, the summer that he was 13,
so that would make it 1969 or 1970. Also, Winnie moved and broke up
with Kevin (geeze Winnie, it was only 4 miles away). Watching reruns
make it hard to follow progression.

    Thanks,

    Guy

I also think Kevin graduates in 1974. All the time references are the same
as I went through and that is the year that I graduated.

I never felt that the early seventies were that great - or that they
would ever make a movie or TV show about them. While times were not as
carefree as the early '60s (American Graffiti and all), they always look
better in retrospect - being young and all. I imagine the strongest
fans of the show grew up in that era.

| | re .10, you didn't think the early 70's were that great? wow. I did.
I graduated from h.s. in 1967, though, so I was 20 in 1970. Those were
the days. They had invented The Pill, but nobody had heard of AIDS or
herpes. Pot was cheap and was everywhere and nobody thought it was
dangerous. There was great rock music, bell bottoms, etc. If only I
could relive them knowing what I know now. :-)

Well, maybe I'll get to find out. The last show is being re-broadcast
on Wednesday night here in MA - not sure of the time or the channel.

I think that the rock music and The Pill were my favorite parts of the
    early 70s :-).
