    I would like to take a poll from the readership of MENNOTES ...
    
    Do you object to the way that foreign language notes are currently
    posted?  Would you prefer a foreign language poster to contact a
    translator (before posting the message) to get a translation in
    the same reply as the foreign language?  Would you prefer something
    else?
    
    This message is set to /NOWRITE.  I do not wish to have this discussion
    here since the topic doesn't relate to MENNOTES at all (discussion can
    occur in ETIQUETTE, as Gale selected). It certainly affects MENNOTES in
    the end, though ... and I do want to know what the readership feels.
    
    Please send me personal MAIL (to RSTS32::COFFLER) with one of the
    two following subject lines:
    
    	"Foreign language contributions ARE fine as they are", or
    	"Foreign language contributions ARE NOT fine as they are"
    
    Feel free to include anything else that you feel in the body of the
    message.  After one week (say on Friday, June 5th, 1987), I'll make the
    messages available to any interested parties (unless I am specifically
    asked not to by the author).  And in the end, I'll let "majority rule";
    this is YOUR conference, and YOU make this conference happen.
    
    If you have a feeling on it, please send MAIL.  If I get few responses,
    then I'll just assume that few people care either way.

    By a WIDE margin, the majority of the readership likes foreign language
    postings just as they are.
    
    It's nice to know that the feelings of the readership agrees with the
    feelings of the moderators from time to time ... :^)
    
    I have the poll results available to anyone who would like them. If you
    want to know what people said on the matter, please send a request to
    RSTS32::COFFLER (by MAIL or SEND/AUTHOR).  If enough people request the
    results, I'll post them here.
    
    An official 'policy' will be posted as a reply to 1.*.
