    	"Women Techniques":

    	1) Smile coyly and insinuate that you will take whatever problem
was being discussed to a superior.

    	2) Smile coyly and play into the chauvenistic attitude by
pretending to be an airhead. Ask appropriate airhead
questions to steer chauvenist into proper way of thinking
(be careful not to make the question sound pointed or
    	   intelligent).

    	3) Put on the ice-cold bit__ face and boldly do whatever needs
doing. If hassled by the male chauvenist, threaten his
masculine ego (you women know how to do that, don't you).

    	4) Insinuate to management that the chauvenist is sexually
harassing you. (Note: This won't work too well if
management is sexually harassing you too!)

    	5) Pretend the male involved does not exist. This is by
    	   far the most popular method.

The above assume that the situation is non-sex related and
involves a confrontation between a female and a male chauvenist.
Following are examples of male techniques:

    	1) Smile wryly and say "That's easy for you to say... if things
ever get too tough all you need to do is get pregnant and
let your husband support you". (Note: Not very effective
    	   on lesbians).

    	2) Pretend to be sensitive and concerned about female-oriented
issues. Even the hard-line female activists love this one,
and will eventually come to trust the 'sympathetic' male
as if he were a female. (Note: This usually involves
a lot of listening to whatever line of drivel she's coming
out with, and you have to really look interested... no
    	   snoring allowed).

    	3) Pretend the female in question does not exist. This is
by far the most popular method.

Having read the note that .0 originated, and having run into the
type of personality that the manager is described as being, the
"Woman techniques" bit sounds like "you'll get the
promotion/raise/favorable review, if you sleep with me, otherwise,
    too bad"

Now, am I overly pessimistic, or had you folks just been avoiding
    this possibility??

    Clark.

be professional, confident, rise above all the garbage and don't
let the b*st*rds get you down ! :-)

Quite frankly, it's worked for me....I am the only female in my
department and my department supports and entirely male community
    of managers.
