I think the base note is referring to the 'wait for the girl to finish
getting ready for a date' but I thought it only applied to adolescents.
It's a stereotype, in any case. Adults who fail to show up when they
are supposed to should apologize or explain the extenuating
circumstances.
My father has a thing for this, and I inherited from him. I get
rather inflamed at people who think I have nothing better to do
than stand around and wait for them. I don't care if it's a woman
or a man.
