Ok, here's what we finally did. We left the Mylex controller in and ordered an Adaptec 2940W and put the CD-ROM drive on the Adaptec controller. I updated the firmware to 1.10 (from www.pc.digital.com -> service, driver download area). Windows NT 4.0 did not see the Adaptec controller when we put it in PCI slot 4, 5, or 6. When we put the Adaptec controller in PCI slot 1 Windows NT started seeing the controller and the CD-ROM drive! Michael |
