1102.0. "Seeking men for membership in core group" by WORDY::GFISHER (Work that dream and love your life) Wed Nov 07 1990 18:04
As part of the ZKO Men's Forum (Nashua, New Hampshire), I'm creating
an all-male core group to look at issues that affect men. Possible
topics of discussion could include masculinity, male friendships,
competition, father-and-son relationships, aggression, fathering,
relationships, and so forth.
We would like to have a start-up meeting during the week of December
17th. However, we may have to push that out to January, depending on
the availability of members. Time commitment is 1 half-day a month,
for one year. Meetings will take place in Nashua.
A core group is a group of 6-8 people--with one core-group leader--who
examine assumptions and stereotypes about differences. In this case,
it would be all men examining assumptions and stereotypes about men
and masculinity. Looking into the question: What is it to be a man in
American society today? What culture clashes make it difficult to
look at men's issues?
For questions, you can contact me at DTN 486-5985 or at
WORDY::GFISHER. You can also copy a written description of men's core
groups from the following directory:

Thanks!
