    I'm a fairly new reader to NOTES, and definitely a new writer. My
    first attempt was my reply in 331.1.
    
    During my reading of various topics in HUMAN_RELATIONS, I've come
    across references to what I presume was its predecessor - 
    SEXCETERRA (sic?) - and I gather (astutely, I hope) there turned
    out to be a significant problem with what was happening to that
    Conference.
    
    Without opening too many old wounds, could someone let me know what
    happened to lead to its demise?
    
    I ask this both out of: 
           - curiousity      
                
                and
    
           - wanting to avoid any mistakes in what I write that
             would put this Conference at risk.

    P.S., since I am new to these Conferences (although not new to DEC,
    I've been here almost 9 years) perhaps somebody could tell me how
    to put in the messages that appear next to the NODE/USER name.

    See note 111 in HUMAN::DIGITAL for a long discussion of what
    happened to SEXCETERA.
    
    In a way, HUMAN_RELATIONS is indeed a descendant of SEXCETERA.
    H_R was created for all the personal relationship topics that were
    what made SEXCETERA so good, leaving behind the topics that aroused
    the ire of the corporation.  We're not ashamed of it.

    I don't think you're disagreeing, at least not with me.  If I
    could find a way to reincarnate what SEXCETERA was, without getting
    fired, I'd do it in a flash.  But I do feel that HUMAN_RELATIONS
    does contain a large part of what made SEXCETERA so cherished in
    the hearts of its noters.  I wish we could include the rest, but
    we do as best as we can.
