The town meeting is next week and we will be voting on the Minuteman
system for our library. Let's get out there and vote. It is important
that we do not remain behind the times. The minuteman system is great.
We are currently losing people to Acton and Concord's library system
for they offer more. If we connect to the minuteman you will be able
to request books right from you home computor. They will be delivered
to the Maynard library and you will be able to pick them up there.

Let's get with it. I hate it when I hear people talking about how bad
our library is when I know it is that way because the people of Maynard
don't seem to want to vote for any improvements. It is used a lot
by people even if everyone isn't aware of it.

Children deserve a good library to stimulate their minds. The children
of Maynard use the library often throughout the year and twice as much
    in the summer.

It is an important asset to any town and we deserve a good working library
that isn't still using methods that were around when I was a kid. That
    was a long time ago..........

See you at the town meeting!

I second that and will attend and vote. I am one of the people
who uses the Concord library alot as I want to use the minuteman
    system to find books.

| 428.3 | library passed | POWDML::DUNN | Tue May 18 1993 09:03 | 11 | |
| It passed, and pretty overwhelmingly. Somehow the request got lowered at the meeting from 80K to 29.9K, and it was specified as a transfer from a specific fund (forget which). This meant it needed 2/3 instead of majority, but it got it easily from the hands that I could see. From what the gentleman explained, we are in the application process, had our interview, the network people would decide soon, and obviously this positive vote would help tremendously. | |||||
