216.0. "RSM Direct Connection Problem" by ROMTSS::MATTACCHIONE () Tue Feb 25 1997 04:53
Hi,
I need to realize for demo a direct connection from a RSM card
and a WNT server machine.
I have the connection 25pin(RSM) 9pin(Wnt)
I have followed the instruction on page 130 of RSM user manual:
9Pin			25pin
3 ----------------------3
2 ----------------------2
7 ----------------------5
8 ----------------------4
5 ----------------------7
1 ----------------------20
4 ----------------------8
Then I have modified the RS_PM.INI as follow:
[Ports]
com1:dl:nt1ced
Then I have set the com1 as follow:
Baud rate 38400 , Data bits 8 ,Parity none , stop Bits 1 ,Flow control HW ,
FIFO enabled.
The in the NT1CED I have imserted only the Server Names and attribute
but no connection actions.
When I attempt to connect via Rsm server manager I obtain the following
indications in the Connection Status Box.
Initiating connection via serial port/modem.
Starting connection process on port com1
connection attempt failed. Connection with remote server failed.
Any idea about?
Thanks Gabriele

| | I don't know about the cable but the rs_pm.ini entry should be
        com1=:dl:nt1ced
    The l produces the com1lm.lml log which you should send to me if it
    still doesn't work. It may have some clues.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Sorry I have a mistake to write the .0 info.
In the rs_pm.ini effective string is com1=dl:nt1ced
I have send you the lml file.
Thanks
Gabriele
