So you saw it. If you are going to take the time to create
a topic for it, why don't you at least start off by giving
your own review of it along with a mini-synopsis of the plot?
(boy, your parties must be boring :-)
ps: I saw this movie also and thought it was quite good, but what good
is a bunch of notes that simply say "me too, I liked it"?

| | me too. i liked it....alot. very good movie.

was this based on fact ?

it was about a russian detective selected by Soviet law enforcement
(KGB?) to hunt down a killer. kids were being murdered.
i believe it was set during the Breshnev (sp?) era. The Soviets had a
hard time with the concept of serial killer. They thought it was
western depravity that didn't exist in their country. but this
persistent detective saw the patterns and bucked the system. he had
an ally in donald sutherland (colonel, general ?)
who made sure he was funded, etc. ...all along you, as the audience, knew
who the killer was and what his M.O. was... this went on for years...
    they finally caught him.

one of the interesting pieces was when during peristroika (sp?), the
detective was finally allowed to call the FBI/CIA for consultation on
serial killers. the quantico people told the detective they had been
watching his handling of the case for years and that US law enforcement
considered him to be one of the best detectives in the world for
    his perseverence.
