	probably not long given the flicks they are showing are all
	out on video (T2 for a couple of years).

	I was hoping they would instead run films like the Wilton
	Town Hall Threatre does ......

    But $1.50 is cheaper than the typical rental.
    
    Most dollar-theaters show movies that have faded from the "major"
    theaters, but aren't quite ready to go to video.

	If you get the Videomatt punch card during their usually
	montly punch card special weekend you can get any rental
	for $1.50.  Shaw's 20 card passes come out to $1 per rental.
	These both require money up front however, but at least Videomatt
	you can put it on your credit card :-)

	Note also that $1.50 for the Brandt is "per person".  Bring the
	family and it will cost you more than your typical rental ....

        Seems to me that me issue isn't really whether it's cheaper to
        rent a video or go to the theater. As .-1 points out, it's
        clearly cheaper to rent. 
        
        The real issue is that two of the films listed haven't been in
        general theater release for quite some time. This provides the
        opportunity to see them on the "big screen", if you're so
        inclined.

    I went to the brandt(sp?) with my girlfriend about a week ago and
    saw "True lies" . I'll tell ya' , 1.50 a seat for 2 hours entertainment
    on the big screen , surrounded by other townsfolk is an something
    far better than being a couch potato/video shutin . 1.50 is a great
    value ( and a cheap date B*)  ) JMHO       expieret

    
    It was just about a week ago when my husband and I and another couple
    went to the Brandt to see Exit to Eden.  The following was our
    experience:
    
    Went to ladies' room before movie.  Shoes stuck to floor.  Went to
    enter one stall and almost "blew my cookies" (for easy clarification)
    at the sight that greeted me.  Had a great fear of what I might find
    in the next stall, but found it relatively safe.  Rushed to wash my
    hands and get back to the "safety" of the group.  One sink clogged and
    over flowing.  Other sink with bad faucet spewed water all over the
    place.  No paper towels.  Proceeded to concession stand to get napkins
    and inform attendant about the "condition" of the ladies' room and got
    a look to kill.  On to the viewing room.  Many seats to choose from,
    took five minutes to find four together that were in a good location to
    the screen that were not ripped, broken or ladden with gum on the
    seats.  Movie was to start at 7:00, at 7:06 curtains open and voice of
    previews is heard, but no picture.  Projectionist plays with film. 
    Next, picture but no sound.  Previews lost, movie begins minus opening
    credits.  Voice, no picture.  Picture, no voice.  Curtains close,
    Projectionist slamming things and cussing can be heard throughout.  We
    were patient and waited until 7:30 at which time anyone who was left in
    the theatre went and got a refund.  We proceeded to rent a movie and
    the four of us went home to watch it.
    
    To be fair though, we did go back and give it a second try.  The sink
    in the ladies' room still spews water everwhere and the film started out
    off kilter and a few minutes late, but it was worth the $1.50.
    
    We'll give it another try in a week or two.
    
    I feel though, that if they keep their present personnel and do not
    make changes soon, that the Brandt will not last much longer.  It has a
    lot of potential.  I feel as though the folks that are there (mostly 
    teenagers) just don't care about the place.
