Well I wasn't expecting much after this one got all the
bad reviews and failed miserably at the box office. Maybe
that's why I mildly enjoyed it ....
Lots of stars in this one, Jim Varney (hey Vern) as Uncle
Jed, Cloris Leachman as Granny, Dabney Coleman as Mr.
Drysdale, Lily Tomlin as Miss Jane Hathoway, Rob Scheider
(SNL) and Lea Thompson (in good shape :-) as a pair
of con artist, and cameos by the immortal Buddy Ebsen
himself (who plays a dedective named Barnaby Jones!),
Dolly Parton and Zsa Zsa Babor. Oh ya, someone named
Erika Eleniak plays Uncle Jed's daughter Elli May, and
Diedrich Bader plays Jethro.
I think the best way to watch this film is to almost completely
dis-associate it from the immortal television series.
Parental warning, there is lots of use of giving the middle finger.
