Film memorabilia is a fairly large industry with hundreds of dealers around
the country. Most of the large ones are located in California or New York.
One of my favorite dealers is Jerry Ohlinger's. You can write them at
242 W. 14th St, New York, NY 10011 or phone at 212 674-8474.

| | Seeing Star Wars at the Senator Theatre last week put this in mind:
does anyone know whether you can buy a "Revenge of the Jedi" movie
poster, and if so, how much you might pay? I remember seeing previews
for "Revenge of the Jedi" and seein gthe posters go up in "Coming
Attractions" windows. A couple weeks before the release, those posters
were quietly gathered up and replaced with "Return of the Jedi"
posters. They must be rare as penguin teeth now!

Speaking of posters, I notice that the original "Star Wars" poster
shows a burly, muscle-bound Luke with tunic split to the waist,
standing over a well-endowed Leia with a white gown showing a lot of
leg and cleavage. In the movie, the characters and their costumes were
much more wholesome. Does anyone know of other poster exaggerations?

    Re: .6

The 'Revenge' posters were all recalled after George Lucas decided that
vengeance was a decidedly un-jedi like personality trait, and replaced
with those with the new name. They shredded all that they could get
their hands on. Some obviously slipped through the net, and I recently
saw one for sale in near new condition in London for 90 pounds. It was
undoubtedly a private sale to the shop which buys & sells old and new
    film posters.

How about National Lampoon's Vacation, with a hilariously muscled Chevy
Chase holding a tennis racquet over his head, and two scantily clad
women hanging onto his legs. (The movie is good, too!)
