| | Referring to my own .0 - now I've seen it myself.

Donald Sutherland plays the father who has been arrested for 22 years
because of murder of his wife. Amy Irving is his daughter, now living
alone with her 11 year old son, working as a waitress in a bar. The
father claimed that it was not murder, but an accident, but the
daughter (at this time a little girl) gave evidence against him and
    therefore he was sentenced.
The father is released from prison and wants to make peace with
his daugther and tries to gain the love of her little son. Although
first the daugther does not want any contact with her father and also
forbids her son to meet with him, after some time he's able to
gain her trust again and to make her doubt that he was guilty. For some
time everything seems to be fine....

A good performance of Donald Sutherland and Amy Irving (btw, what was
she doing the last years ? ). But the plot was so predictable ! I
always waited that something unforseen happened, but it did not.
